Ariel Bunny Wheelchair Today we bring you the story of Ariel, a bunny that can’t hop. Ariel was found abandoned in the streets of NYC, homeless and motionless. The doctors established that the little hopper suffered from limb hind paresis, most likely caused from an attack by another animal. This deprived Ariel of that special bunny skill – the ability to hop. Continue reading

Music To Our Hares: The 10 Most Important Rabbit Songs In The History Of Rabbit Songs

When trying to avoid cliches and some of the more apparent musical themes, artists tend to change their style and lyrical approach. They find new ways to express themselves or entirely new topics to delve into through their music.

Believe it or not, rabbits are occasionally included among off-the-beaten-track topics, dating back to the early days the 20th century. Sometimes they serve as metaphors (cryptic or otherwise), sometimes they’re specifically about rabbits, but one thing’s for certain – they’re bunny songs. So join us as we rundown of 10 greatest rabbit songs of all time.

10. Florence & The Machine – ‘Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)’

We’ll kick it off with younger representatives of the music scene – Florence & The Machine and their Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) tune. Indie rockers released the track as a single in June 2009, scoring No. 12 spot on the UK Singles Chart.

Biggest Bunny Ralph

OMG: The Story Of Ralph, The World’s Biggest Bunny

Not exactly your average hare hopper, but just as adorable, a Continental Giant rabbit from the UK named Ralph takes the title of the biggest bunny in the world.

And we mean that literally, as this 55-pound mega-hare has officially been acclaimed as the world’s biggest rabbit by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Interestingly enough, this is the second time Ralph has claimed such a title, as the 4-year-old rabbit already saw the biggest bunny throne prior to being outweighed by yet another UK-based giant, a 49-pound jumper named Darius. Ralph is currently heavier than he’s ever been, weighting more than an average 3-year-old child.

Rabbits On The Reel: Watch A Supercut Of Bunnies In Film

In honor of our favorite holiday, Easter, we’ve cobbled together a supercut of our favorite movie bunnies and embedded it below.

The edit includes classic selections from Bambi, Harvey, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, but is leavened with a selection of lesser-known, and carefully vetted, dark horse entries, showing the versatility of our rabbits friends; they’re more than just inspiration for our cute slippers.

Congrats to Kai Peter, the winner of our contest! He correctly identified all of the movies in sequence and they are now listed below the jump!

How To Draw Bugs Bunny: Hop Art Instruction From An Old Pro

This week we released a brand new design to our character slippers collection. We think this slipper style filled a void we had long sensed was present in our catalog. You see, we had the classic bunny slipper, the brown bunny slipper, the killer rabbit slipper, and even flip-hop bunny spa sandals… but we didn’t have any slippers in the style of the reigning cartoon king of Lapin Land, until now.

To celebrate the recent addition of these Bugs Bunny Slippers to, we’d like to share a vintage clip of legendary animator Chuck Jones presenting a step by step lesson on drawing this ‘wascally wabbit’.

Adjust Those Rabbit Ear Antenna for the Top 10 TV Bunnies

Here at H2P, we’ve covered Bunny Pitchmen and Rabbits on the Radio, but somehow we forgot to include beloved TV bunnies. Oh, darn! Luckily, the Huffington Post stepped in to fill the void as part of their Easter material this year with their TV Bunnies Throughout History list. Of their 10, we picked our top 3 (plus one MAJOR rabbit they missed!) to share with you below.

#1. Bean Bunny from The Muppets

#2. Ickis from Aaahh!!!! Real Monsters (Okay, so technically Ickis is a Monster, not a rabbit. However, we’re willing – as Huffpo presumably was – to make a concession for one of the best Nickelodeon cartoons to come out of the ’90s.)

#3. Buster from Arthur

One rabbit (well, sort of) we felt the list was lacking comes from Adult Swim classic Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The very first episode of the show featured a giant rabbit robot, Rabbot.

Remembering Til, Germany’s Earless Rabbit

Disclaimer: Today we deviate from our typically cheerful subject matter to honor a furry friend that passed away recently. The contents of this article are unfortunately quite sad.

One of the most charming features of our favorite buck-toothed, carrot nibbling friends are their iconic ears. Until his untimely death a few days ago, Til proved to the world that even without ears, bunny rabbits are the very definition of adorable sweetness. Til was born in late February with a genetic defect that caused his lack of ears. During his first foray into the spotlight, a stroke of bad luck ended his life prematurely. Our hearts go out to those closest to Til, and we hope that in the future further precautions will be taken to protect unique and extraordinary animals in their forays into the media. Click here for more pictures of Til, and a larger version of the image above.
